I have presented, explained and demonstrated my classroom rules. Below I have listed my 6 classroom rules. I have also included the rewards and consequences that compliment my behavior plan. For positive behavior, students will receive a blue chip. Blue chips can be used to purchase special items in my classroom store. If a student fails to obey a classroom rule he or she will receive a red chip. A red chip cancels out a blue chip when a student attempts to purchase an item from the store. For example if a student has 10 blue chips and 2 red chips he or she has a total of 8 chips to use in the store. I would greatly appreciate it if you would review the rules, rewards and consequences with your child.
Classroom Rules:
1.Listen and follow directions the first time they are given.
2.Raise hand before speaking and wait patiently to be called on.
3.Listen to others while they are speaking.
4.Keep hands and feet to yourself
5.Walk quietly and slowly through the hallways and classrooms.
6.Come prepared to class every day. (Homework, pencils, books, etc.)
Consequences:Rewards:
1.Warning + red chip-Blue chips
2.Lose 5 minutes from recess + red chip -Treats
3.No recess + red chip -Extra free time
4.Meeting with principal
You can keep track of your child’s behavior with a behavior chart which your child will be responsible for. Each week your child will bring home a chart that shows you how many blue and/or red chips he or she received for the week. Please sign at the end of each week and return. This chart will be used to determine your child’s Social and Personal Development grade.
